REVEAL 66D
For the past decade Tannoy Reveal Active monitors have been the choice of recording studios, composers and post production houses around the world. Now Tannoy has improved on these designs and added digital input capabilities in the Reveal 66D monitor.
Tannoy Reveal 66D Monitor at a Glance:
Precision monitors with selectable settings for nearfield, midfield and far field use
S/PDIF connections keep your signal digital
Bass drivers with special voice coil for low distortion
Extended highs from WideBand driver
Rigid reinforced cabinet and baffle for resonance-free projection
Precision monitors with selectable settings
The Reveal 66D solves the common problem of matching monitors to your room! A comprehensive calibrated EQ allows you to adjust settings for midfield, nearfield and far field applications in full, half, quarter and eighth-space
environments. Special mid-band and high-frequency trim shelving controls give you even more customizing options. Reveal 66D monitors can fit in difficult acoustic spaces such as varying meter bridge positions, against and adjacent to walls or reflecting surfaces, in corners, on shelves or brackets, and on table tops.
S/PDIF connections keep your signal digital
To keep your signal in the digital domain all the way to your monitors, the Reveal 66D has S/PDIF inputs that allow up to 96kHz resolution. Each speaker can be switched to decode either left or right signals, and also includes a S/PDIF through to allow continuation to the next monitor while maintaining the 75-ohm termination.
Bass driver with special voice coil for low distortion
The Reveal 66D has two totally new 6" low-frequency drivers that deliver surprising punch and remarkable clarity. These woofers utilizes Tannoy's exclusive 4-layer voice coil to produce a better bottom-end response by delivering a higher "driving force" on the moving piston. This design reduces harmonic distortion and provides optimum damping for the cleanest bass you've ever heard from a speaker of this size! They're securely attached to the solid baffle with no less than 10 countersunk-head screws for maximum stability.
Extended highs from WideBand driver
The open and detailed reproduction of mid-high frequencies in the Reveal 66D is further enhanced by the inclusion of a Tannoy WideBand high-frequency unit to improve and extend high-frequency phase response. This driver extends high-frequency response to 51kHz! This ensures increased tonal accuracy of individual instruments in the reproduction process - a crucial factor that allows you to make the best EQ and placement decisions.
Rigid reinforced cabinet and baffle for resonance-free projection
The original Reveal Active model was renowned for its rigid cabinet and substantial baffle. With the new Reveal 66D, the cabinets have been further braced and refined to provide the most rigid platform possible for the new river designs. A thick 3/4" baffle contributes to the clean, uncompromised sound.
The new Reveal 66D provides greater bandwidth, significantly lower levels
of distortion, smoother responses, more accurate phase control, higher sensitivity levels and greater input source flexibility. It's a great choice for your small room!
